Shamrock Week!

Kappa Delta Beta Delta has been so busy lately!  The week of March 26th – the 30th we held our annual Shamrock fundraiser events!  These were the events that took place:

Our girls gathered a large crowd for the Wild Bill Comedy Roast by representing our event at the basket ball game that evening of the 28th

Our Greek Service Auction also went really well with the support of our fellow Greeks biding and providing services!  Thanks to all of you that participated!

We had a lot of support from our fellow USU Aggies and locals during Shamrock so it was a great success!  We raised over $4,000 for our philanthropies, Prevent Child Abuse America & The Child and Family Support Center, and we hope to raise even more next year.

Get your Shamrock on!

We just want to say sorry in advance for not posting for the past few weeks!  Utah State University's Spring Break recently passed and all of our sisters were off on their own adventures!  However, we are all back and ready to work hard to complete not only our academic responsibilities of this semester, but our Kappa Delta responsibilities.

Next week we will have our Shamrock events to support the Child and Family Support Center & Prevent Child Abuse America!  So all week long our girls have been hard at work spreading the word across campus about our events!  This year we will be having a comedy roast of a very "famous" figure here at Utah State University - Wild Bill; all of our sisters have put in time this week to work at a booth trying to bring in donations for Shamrock revolving this event.  We also will be having a dodge ball tournament, the annual Greek Service Auction (where we Kappa Delta's and others in our Greek community will be donating services for our cause), and a Fox Pizza Den fundraiser!  There has been a lot of preparation for Shamrock week thanks to the hard work of our Shamrock Committee and our VP Community Service Samantha Burrows, as well as others that have volunteered!  We are hoping for only great outcomes so that we can give our best to the Child and Family Support Center & Prevent Child Abuse America!

We also have our CDC visiting and we are so happy to have her here to give us insight on what other chapters are doing and what we can do to improve our programs!  We have had 1 chapter workshop with her so far and it was very helpful regarding recruitment!  Currently, individual groups and appointed officers have gotten together with her to talk about specific responsibilities and innovative ideas to better improve each section that encompasses our chapter!

National Convention and Shamrock

On the 13th Beta Delta welcomed back our council from the Nation Convention.  Our Vice President of PR, Jenna Black, stated this after her return:
“Beta Delta council attended the very first KD National Collegiate Training Academy in Atlanta this past weekend. We had the opportunity to hear from amazing speakers such as former National President Corre Stegall and National President Beth Martin Langford. We met many other chapter councils and swapped advice and ideas. There's nothing more powerful than a room full of 1600 KD's. We truly are a part of something bigger than ourselves and will be for life. Thank you so much to each one of you, both collegiate members and alumnae, for everything you have ever done for Beta Delta. This is truly a magical sisterhood and it's comforting to know we are never alone.”
Our council has returned to Utah State with an amazing new drive to launch our sisterhood to the next level.  We are all excited to proactively work together, even more, to make our sisterhood stronger.

On Monday we also held a fundraiser event on Monday at one of Logan’s local pizza parlors called Fox Pizza Den, where 15% of all proceedings went to our Shamrock efforts.  That evening Beta Delta had a representative come from the Child and Family Support Center to educate us regarding their programs and why they do what they do.  It sincerely touched our hearts, making us appreciate how lucky we are to have grown up without experience what other children have.  This year, Beta Delta has chosen to sponsor the Child and Family Support Center through our Shamrock events, so it was beneficial for us to better understand what we are supporting and to take pride in that.
